Barrack room theft is all to common at a number of establishments and very often it MOD Police Crestcould be avoided. In the first instance, take the simple steps of ensuring that valuables are locked way in a locked wall locker, safe or locked desk drawer; even within a securely locked room.

When out, ensure that your room is left secure with doors and windows locked.

Ensure that you property mark your valuable items. As Service Personnel are transient, we recommend property marking using your service number + Army/Navy/RAF as opposed to a postcode.

These days we require passwords and PIN numbers for so many different things, it is often difficult to remember them all. Be careful not to leave pieces of paper with passwords and PIN numbers written on insecure and never carry these around in a purse or wallet.

If you do discover that you have had something stolen, report it to Police immediately.
