“Insane in the Lakes” In Support of The Royal British Legion

Ten insane individuals successfully completed the Three Lakes Challenge on the 23rd June 2012. The challenge involved kayaking the length of three lakes, Windermere (10.5m), Ullswater (7.5m) and Coniston Water (5m) in the Lake District, a total of 23 miles, in less than 10 hours.

Raising money for The Royal British Legion, a charity, which we know provide a much needed support service across the Armed Forces Family for both past serving and current serving service personnel and their families; none of the team had experience in kayaking or had attempted such an endeavour before.

Eamon Keating stated afterwards, “I know I said “how hard can it be?” well now I know”.

So a HUGE well done to the team:

Eamon KEATING (Defence Police Federation)
Phil PHILLIPS (MoD Police – CID Gosport)
Jim PULLINGER (MoD Police – CID Gosport)
Jack BRIGGS (MoD Police – CID Catterick)
Bob ORD (MoD Police – CID Catterick)
John REGAN (Defence Police Federation – Northern Area)
Matt SMITH (MoD Police- HMNB Portsmouth)
Steve BEARD (MoD Police-DSG Gosport)
Steve PARSLOW (Former Royal Marine)
Duncan GOODLAND (MOD Civilian based at HMS Excellent Whale Island)
