When the Home Front team at Andover carried out a consultation with residents of the Service Families Accommodation (SFA), one of the problem areas identified was that of speeding motorists on the Salmond Road estate.
Community Police Officer PC Karen Rosier has been very proactive in providing education to local children in relation to road safety and during Defence Road Safety Week in November, she distributed information leaflets reminding drivers to adhere to speed limits.
More recently, in an effort to further address the speeding problems, enhanced traffic calming measures have been installed and Karen is pleased to report that these are proving to be effective with a notable reduction in the number of reports of speeding vehicles.
A reminder to motorists that with Christmas coming up, there will no doubt be children out with new bicycles. Please keep your speed down.
