The Big Brew Up 2011 – Pirbright

The Big Brew Up 2011The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families’ Association (SSAFA) Forces Help is the leading national charity committed to helping and supporting those who serve in our Armed Forces, those who used to serve, and the families of both.  They provide a reliable, caring and trusted service to more that 50,000 people each year.SSAFA Forces Help has been serving the Armed Forces and their families for well over a 100 years and their work is as vital today as it has ever been and for one days service SSAFA offers a lifetime of support

Several soldiers and their families from Pirbright have benefitted from grants and support from SSAFA recently and it is a fact that Units that support SSAFA are most likely to be successful in gaining support from the charity as they are more aware of what support and assistance can be available.

The Unit Welfare Office at Army Training Centre Pirbright in conjunction with the other Welfare Agencies on site, and ISS will be running a BIG BREW in support of SSAFA on Wed 5th, Thu 6th and Fri 7th Oct in the Alexander Club opposite the Unit Welfare Office.  We will be serving tea and cakes from 1000 until 1230 each day and all permanent staff, recruits, families and civilians are most welcome to join us for a cuppa.  On Thursday and Friday Recruits families and friends that are attending Families Day and Pass Off Parade are also invited to attend and this is a good way to let them know about the support that SSAFA can offer their sons and daughters throughout their service careers.

If you would like to donate a cake or some biscuits (homemade or shop bought) to support the Big Brew please drop them off to Kay at the Unit Welfare office on Mon 3rd or Tues 4th.
